Quote of the Day

I came across this today and thought it was excellent to share. The 3rd sentence is particularly relevant. I'm sure you know people like this...

"It is not about religion it is about truth. It is amazing to me today how many people do not want truth. They are not out to discover, learn or come to a conclusion, but they are out to disprove and fight anything they do not want to believe. This is where selfishness and stupidity reaches their highest point, when truth becomes what you want it to be. It is not a matter of what one wants to believe or does believe. It is a matter of what is true regardless of any human mind existing. It is a matter of what is and has always been regardless of how it has or has not been represented. Truth is truth is truth."

Ok, I guess I'll write something...

Well, the past month or so has been a whirlwind with wedding plans and parties, golf, and general summer craziness. The wedding planning is taking up a lot of the weekends, but I have to try and get some golf in to keep the stress off. It's good to know someone who can get you free or extremely discounted golf, i.e., Rob Walker. He's preparing for his professional test in September and has been attempting to instruct me on how to hit the ball further. My little arms just want to smack the crap out of the ball, but that tends to make things worse and I end up pushing it right with some crazy side spin. I test his patience when I do that. He calls it "casting". It's hard to break out of the habit, but I'll eventually get it.

Moving on, I spent the first weekend of June in D.C. visiting some family and meeting up with my old buddies from Celera for a surprise birthday party and a return visit to our favorite Friday afternoon golf course in Rockville, MD. It's always nice to go up there and see how really beautiful that part of the country is compared to Memphis. I also enjoy looking at the houses around Potomac, MD off River Road that I will never be able to afford...simply beautiful.

This past couple of weekends, Melissa and I have been getting the big stuff out of the way for the wedding. We've ordered our rings and invitations, I found a tux, we registered at Macy's and Target, and we're trying to get everyone's addresses together. All while attending Mary D's wedding shower in Jackson, Jessica's party, Erika's going-away party at Bev's, and making apple dip for parties that makes people smile with glee. So far, it's been a good summer with only 80 something days to go until we're married. Yea!
