The assembly of Magog has begun

As Israel continues its barrage against Hamas and Syrian and Iranian-backed Hezbollah, it is important to mention now that Syria is not mentioned as being part of the Magog invasion of Israel in Ezekiel 38-39. Here's why: "The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.... And behold at eveningtide trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us." Isaiah 17:1, 14 and Jeremiah 49:23-27 mentions the destruction of Syria's capital. Damascus is "The Oldest Continuously Inhabited City" in the world, but not for long according to Isaiah and Jeremiah. Israel could very well push into Syria if Hezbollah doesn't back down. In the interim, Iran is warning Israel not to target Syria. I'm sure they haven't bothered to read Isaiah's prophecy, but they should so they know how it will end for Damascus.

In other relevant news:

Hezbollah wants to move the captured Israeli troops to Iran...

Iran remains defiant about abandoning its nuclear ambitions...

Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, again, boasts that Israel will be destroyed in the near future...

Russia condemns Israeli fighting in Lebanon and Gaza...

Iran was present at North Korea's Taepodong-2 missile launches...

Egypt is looking like an Israeli ally, nearly brokering a deal for the release of Cpl. Gilad Shalit until Hamas broke off negotiations...The Bible mentions cities of Saudi Arabia (Sheba and Dedan) and Egypt (Mizraim) sitting on the sidelines, watching the Magog invasion unfold. Could it be that the brink of WWIII is in our midst with the capture of Cpl. Gilad Shalit? More importantly, the elements are coming together for the Magog invasion led by the yet unidentified Gog. President Bush is correct in letting Israel do its thing. These events will usher in God's plan to let everyone know he still exists and rules forever and ever(Ezekiel 38:23).

All these events are significant to us as Christians and some more than others watch with great anticipation as I do. Ezekiel 37, the "vision of dry bones" verse was fulfilled May 14, 1948 when Israel became a state, and started the end times discussions altogether. All this conflict is misunderstood to those who do not know Christ. It's my hope that anyone reading this will open their heart and minds to His love. We know these things have to happen for the end to come. If you don't know Jesus, check out these sites:

Now would be a good time to go find your Bible. In the words of Jack Bauer, "Do it, now!" The news is just going to get uglier...

Comments:
Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows. But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them. And the gospel must first be published among all nations. Mark 13:4-10

Jesus tells us that the Gospel must first be preached to the world. God tells us in Ephesians 5 that Jesus is returning for a glorious church without spot wrinkle, or blemish. And Jesus said in John 14 that we would be used by God to do the works that He did through Jesus and even greater ones. It is exciting, because if these wars and rumors of wars, and if these nations rising against nations are a sign of the return of our Savior, than the preaching with power and demonstration is right here too! Think about millions of us being used by God to do the works that Jesus did and even greater works! Exciting times indeed! The gospel will be preached as never before, the dead will be raised, the love of God will be shed, the prophesies that will be told, man what a time, what a great time!

Johnathon,
I found your Blog for the first time today. I like it!! In terms of friendly discussion, what is your basis for the following statement; Ezekiel 37, the "vision of dry bones" verse was fulfilled May 14, 1948 when Israel became a state, and started the end times discussions altogether. I applaud you blogging. You have done much more than I have in the way of getting the word out. I would just like to talk about this issue with someone else that has looked at it.

Hi John,

There is still debate among Jews and others about Ezekiel 37 being fulfilled, but I like to let scripture speak for itself in light of what has happened in history, particularly in the 20th century. Check out the link below for some background on this subject. The author is a Jew turned Christian who has been on the news a lot lately regarding his fictional books and how they seem to be coming true...fascinating stuff!

I forgot to post the link. Here it is...
